It is reported that the Association of Employees' Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers has kept the accounts of the current exchequer in front of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and has requested the Finance Minister that now Dearness allowance should be given to all government employees and pensioners according to the current dearness rate of 28%. The association said that the central government employees worked with full dedication during Kovid. Many employees also lost their lives in the line of duty. Keeping all this in mind, the Finance Minister should give due dearness allowance and dearness relief at the rate of 28% to all employees and pensioners from January 2020.
In view of the Corona epidemic crisis, the government had stopped the additional allowances to the central government employees and pensioners from 1 January 2020. The Department of Expenditure has told in a memorandum that the next installment of the allowance will also not be given from 1 July 2020 and 1 January 2021. However, DA, DR will continue to be paid at the current rates. The Union Cabinet had approved a 4 percent increase in the DA of its employees, which was increased from 17 percent to 21 percent.

Expensive allowances were not paid to government officials in Gujarat due to the Corona epidemic. When the dearness allowance has not been paid for the last 6 months, the government officials will be paid 3 months dearness allowance on the occasion of Diwali.
