those who have completed 6 years can be given admission in Std 1
Education News: The Department of Education has issued a circular to all the DEOs of the state stating that the age qualification for admission in Std. 1 from the academic year 2023-24 is 6 years. The education department has also instructed the parents who are currently taking admission of their children in the nursery to ensure that their child reaches the age of 6 years at the time of admission in Std.1.
Every district education officer has been given the responsibility to make the parents aware of this issue.
There was confusion among the school administrators regarding the age at which the children should be given admission in the nursery. There was a discussion in the group of school administrators about the age of admission. Administrators demanded that the education department make a statement in this regard.
So the education department has again sent the locked down circular to each DEO, instructing the parents along with all the schools to take action to make them aware of this rule. So that no parent gets in trouble after three years in the ongoing nursery admission.
Administrators of private schools had earlier raised the issue of age limit for admission in Std-1 before the education department.
