Girnar ropeway is a ropeway located on the Girnar mountain in Junagadh district of Gujarat, India. It is the longest ropeway in Asia. Despite being proposed since 1983, construction began as late as September 2018 due to delays in government approval and court claims. It was built by Usha Braco Ltd. and is now managed by him. It was inaugurated on October 24, 2020.

The project was first proposed by the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) in 1983, with a proposal to convert approximately 9.1 hectares (22 acres) of forest land into common land. In 1994, the Gujarat government allowed a total of 7.29 hectares (18.0 acres) of forest land to be converted into common land and in its place approved new forest land near Tornia village. The Government of India also approved this in 1995.
The Girnar ropeway, which is 2.3 km long at an altitude of 900 m above the ground, will take only 8 to 10 minutes to reach Ambaji. It will save time and energy of the pilgrims. Junagadh Girnar ropeway will soon be the center of attraction in the world tourism map. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate it by the end of next May. At the same time, there is speculation as to how the accused will bow down at the Ambaji Mata temple at Girnar on his first trip. While the possibility of dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi coming to inaugurate this largest project in Asia is being discussed in basic sources.

According to media reports, the ropeway fare will remain the same but exempted from GST, which is charged separately with tickets. According to the new fare announcement, the ticket price will be 700 but the 18 per cent GST which was levied separately will now be added to the ticket price.

Now people can get there in 7-8 minutes by rope-way.
